Serving God for 60 Years at Dorothy Lane American
Baptist Church

We are a small church with a big heart located across from the Community Golf Course on West Dorothy Lane in Kettering, Ohio. We are a loving fellowship of people striving to walk Jesus' way. We cordially invite you and your family to join us in our journey together.

Our Sunday worship service starts at 11:00 am and lasts about an hour. We have a nursery available for infants and toddlers, but children of all ages are welcome in our service. After worship, we gather for refreshments and conversations. Please join us!

Board of Christian Education Accepting Donations for the Back to School Carnival

Our annual Back to School Carnival is an amazing way that our church supports the children and schools in our community. Last year, the funds we raised from the craft sale and trunk sale went towards school supplies that helped hundreds of students at Southdale and Orchard Park as well as those who were affected by the Memorial Day tornadoes. This year, we are trying something new and asking for donations through an online fundraising page called GoFundMe. Search . We hope to raise $1,000 by the end of July. The GoFundMe site will also be linked to the church Facebook page. Anyone is welcome to donate through the site or in person. For more information please contact Kelly Medina, Lori Frueauf, Susan Sinks, Connie Sinks, or Megan Farnham.

Dear DLABC Church Family,

We will not have Sunday Worship Service or activities for the next three weeks. The dates are 3/15, 3/22, and 3/29.
Our Board Chairs, Moderator and I do not make this decision lightly. Due to the threat of the spreading COVID-19 virus, and the increasing levels of caution being implemented by the government, it is the safest decision for all of us.
I am opening a YouTube channel today, and will record this week's sermon and upload it Sunday morning. The channel name is Pastor Karen E Johnson.
If you have prayer concerns or joys, please communicate them to me today by email,, or with a church member who may call you with this closing news. We will publish this list on Sunday to the prayer chain.
This is a difficult moment of each of us and for all of us. Let us be in prayer for each other and the world.

In Christian love,

Pastor Karen
Let’s Do Church, Anyway!

Although we can’t be together for the next few weeks, we can still Worship at 11:00 am on Sunday. Wherever you are, you can use this order of service. I hope you will feel a strength and an encouragement from worshipping God!

First, grab your Bible and read our Call to Worship Philippians 4:4-7. Then pray the Lenten prayer for 3/22 or 3/29 (on the newsletter page of this website). Listen to one of Jacks’ songs on YouTube (or find a Christian radio station, or a CD) for musical inspiration. Read the sermon Scripture, John 9:1-25 for 3/22 or Luke 15:1-32 for 3/29. Pray for your own individual needs. Watch my sermon for today on YouTube, or if that is not possible, think about the Bible passage and how it can apply to your life. End with another song, and read the Benediction from Jude 24-25.

May God’s peace surround you and bless you…. Pastor Karen
